Butterfly Effect 1
BUTTERFLY EFFECT
Butterfly Effect is a constantly changing composition consisting of 100 20” concrete spheres, 50 concrete bars 5”x5”x12’, and one 8’ concrete cube. Over 7 yrs many new compositions are placed over a large undulating topography, offering unlimited spatial differentials and creating a dynamic relation between object, site, and viewer. Changes occur in response to natural occurrences or world events that stimulate artist/action. The outside influences have no relationship to the sculpture, but motivate the artist to action. In Lorenez’s Chaos theory the Butterfly Effect is a phenomenon where there is sensitive dependence on initial conditions. Small things can cause monumental results.
